Transport subareas
Berlin has a unified transport system, so buses, trams, U- and S-Lines,
and even regional trains inside the city can be used with the same
tickets. The area covered by the public transport is divided into
subareas A, B, and C. The subareas A and B cover the whole city and
contain all the stations and airports mentioned above. If you do not
plan to leave the city, buy tickets marked AB (there are also BC and ABC tickets).
Subarea C contains Potsdam and other cities closed to Berlin.
All the stops of the public transport are marked with
following symbols:
- city train
lines (S-Bahn),
-
underground lines (U-Bahn),
- trams
(Tram/Strassenbahn),
- busses.
