course introduces the notions and techniques of modern algebraic geometry.
Topics to be discussed include affine and projective varieties, the algebraic
notion of dimension, Hilbert polynomials and syzygies, sheaves. Special
emphasis will be placed on example of algebraic varieties like Grassmannians
or scrolls. |
