The group Mathematical Physics of Space, Time and Matter is part of the UNIFY Network and also plays the role of local coordinator of the network at the Berlin/Potsdam node.

What is UNIFY?

UNIFY is a Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Network funded by the European Union. The Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) aims at strengthening research partnerships through staff exchanges and networking between European research organisations and organisations from specific countries abroad. UNIFY was set up between the European institutions

and the overseas institutions

The network organizes conferences and schools at the partner institutions and provides cofunding for members of the European partner institutions travelling to one of the non-European partner institutions (not for the opposite direction) for the purpose of research in one of the fields:

UNIFY events

The next UNIFY activity at a non-European partner institutions is:
Kavli IPMU Workshop on Gauge and String Theory, August 26 - September 6 2013, Tokyo

Travelling with UNIFY

Researchers from Humboldt-University or AEI Potsdam, who want to apply for UNIFY cofunding, please send an email at least two month before your travel to Prof. M. Staudacher (matthias@aei.mpg.de) and cc A. Schalke (schalke@mathematik.hu-berlin.de) containing information about the dates of your travel and the approximate amount of money that you want to apply for. We will then inform you about availability of funding and send you the necessary forms.

UNIFY can cover airplane tickets, accommodation, per diem, conference fees, but only up to a maximum amount that is determined by the duration of your stay and which amounts to about 2000 Euros/month and proportionally less for shorter stays.
