Fachschaft Mathematik HU Berlin

Evaluation

An anonymous evaluation of all courses takes place at the HU every semester. In mathematics, we evaluate online on the teaching evaluation page. All students are invited to fill out questionnaires on all the events they have attended.

The evaluation is important in order to give lecturers feedback and the university (and if the lecturers agree to a publication also the students) data on the quality and popularity of events.

The teachers are required to present and discuss the results of the evaluation in the course.

Details on the evaluation procedure can be found here. For events that use a Moodle course, the students usually log into the corresponding course and are forwarded to the evaluation portal by clicking on a link. Another password entry is not necessary, as Moodle automatically generates a one-time password. Alternatively, the lecturer hands out tokens to the students. A token is a one-time password and event-related. This is entered here in the evaluation portal and an evaluation can then be submitted. With both options, the evaluation is completely anonymous at all times.
