The algorithm is described in "Index determination for DAEs" (Preprint 19-2001) and the paper for NMCM2002 in Miskolc.

To use MATLAB files first download the tar-file.
 
Expand the tar-file. Start matlab. Change into directory Main_param_xt. Set the path to the directories Index_param_xt and Examples.

To test the computation of the index of a DAE start  the files main_param_index_name.m in Main_param_xt.

To test the computation of consistent initial values for a DAE start  the files main_param_consi_name.m in Main_param_xt.

log-files  contain detailed information about this run.

If you want to create your own example, adapt the file daefile.m and create a new main file.
