Nonlinear Optimization
- Development and analysis of adjoint-based optimization methods
- Development and analysis of new approaches for nonsmooth optimization
- Development of optimization methods for machine learning
Algorithmic Differentiation (AD)
= Calculation of derivatives for functions given as computer programs
I work on
- the maintance and development of our AD tool ADOL-C
- checkpointing techniques
