This will be a seminar for Master's students. The required prerequisites are Topologie I and Differentialgeometrie I; Topologie II and Funktionalanalysis are also highly recommended (concurrent enrollment OK).
The topic of the seminar is one of the most important developments in differential geometry and topology of the last half-century: the Atiyah-Singer index theorem. Our goal will be to understand at least one proof of (some version of) the theorem and explore a few of its applications.
